Happy Release Day to... ME!

It's my first official release day! *throws confetti*

Overkill has been released by the MM Romance group today. If you are a member of the group, you can read it within the comments in the story thread or in a few days it will be up for download here.

I had a wonderful time writing my first story and hope readers enjoy Declan, Tate and the other members of Station Zero. Though the picture in the prompt fueled the story, those boys were not the mental image I used while writing. If you are curious; I have a Pinterest Board for the story with character inspiration, songs from the story and songs that I listened to while writing.

Thanks to anyone who reads the story. Have a great day!

My story has a cover!

No need to be flowery or over wordy with this post...Overkill has a cover!

The gorgeous and talented Natasha Snow did an amazing job. She took the emotions in my story and put them front and center on this beautiful cover.

The story has been submitted to the M/M Romance Group for edits. It will be out sometime late this summer.

A HUGE Thank You to Natasha for her time on this cover.

One Month Later.

It has been roughly over a month since I claimed a prompt with the M/M Romance Group on Goodreads for the Love Landscapes Event.

The excitement of writing this story had peaks and valley's and some very low points to be honest. Taking thoughts from your head and putting them to page hoping those who will read it not only get what the story, but like it is nerve wracking.

I will say; I have the best support system a first time author could ask for. When times arose where I wanted to give up, I let my words be read by them and the feedback energized me. It pushed me to write and fueled words to fly from my fingers and create the story of these two boys who just need to get past their issues to be together.

The story is done, I just needed some polishing through editing where I seriously lack talent. I have written Eight Chapters, a Prologue and an Epilogue that total 38,400 words. That number shocks me as I just wrote and didn't realize these boys had so much they needed to say.

Will this be an amazing story? Will it just be okay? Will it be total crap? That is up for those who read it. I am proud that I took a chance and created something that is mine. Yes, the boys came from a picture and while that picture gave me the initial idea for their story; Declan Morrison and Tate Newman came from my crazy brain and made me smile and shout at them as they told me their story. They were a pair of chatty boys, I can tell you.

So, the story -- Overkill -- will be out sometime this summer. I hope to submit it Tuesday to the M/M Romance Group and cross my fingers while holding my breath through my first official editing process and hope it all goes well .

From here... the plot bunnies are a plenty and I think I may write again. Just not on such a fast deadline. My family wasn't too keen on me being lost as much this time around.

Oh and if you are interested, this is what I used as inspiration while writing, my Pinterest Board for the story.

New Adventures in a New World

This is a whole new world I am stepping into. This world of writing words and having people read them. People... I don't know.

I have been a voracious reader for years and have also written when I had the time. I have kept numerous journals and of course wrote the angsty poetry of a teenager who no boy wanted to date in High School.

I went through a period where I would write my best friend on the other side of the country, more than 3,000 miles away from the Sandwich Islands I was living on, in Elizabethan Prose. She and I not only wrote our lives that way but we had created stories about our lives as if we were living during that time. We had a love affair with all things Shakespeare and loved reading our historical romances. We dreamed and romanticized that time but in reality; who wants to sleep on straw and rarely bathe?  My OCD would have OCD if I lived then.

So I am trying this writing thing out. I did write a bit of fan fiction for a series I adored and entered a contest under the FF name. I has had good response as of today. But this event, the Love's Landscape event for the M/M Romance group on Goodreads, this is a big deal.  Maybe I am making it bigger than it should be, maybe I am not making it big enough? I am not sure. All I know is on a good day where my emotions were high, I claimed a reopened prompt and have been putting my fingers to the keyboard to bring these boys to life.

Their sexual tension, the UST the prompt writer asked for, will be played out to the best of my ability and there will be music. Music is a form of expression I adore and have used many times to portray emotions I have been unable to express. My boys will have the same problem and use music the same way. I am crossing my fingers it translates well.
